Guided Oregon BDR Tour: August 1st to August 7th 2026
The Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route delivers a raw and varied adventure that showcases the state’s incredible geographic contrast. Beginning near the California border, the route heads north through vast high-desert landscapes and ancient pine forests before climbing into the rugged terrain of the Cascade Range. Riders encounter constantly changing surfaces — from volcanic rock and deep pumice to sand, silt, and demanding mountain roads that keep both skill and focus sharp.
As the route unfolds, Oregon reveals its wild side. Sagebrush steppe gives way to natural hot springs, lava fields, remote caverns, and massive glaciated volcanoes rising above the horizon. Long stretches of solitude are broken only by small outposts and sweeping viewpoints, offering riders a rare chance to experience the state far beyond its highways and population centers.
ADV Rider Training tours are led by Mike Greene, a retired firefighter and registered EMT with decades of leadership in challenging environments. Our approach blends structured ride management, practical instruction, and a true “no rider left behind” mindset — allowing riders to tackle demanding terrain with confidence while fully absorbing the scenery, challenge, and reward of Oregon’s backcountry.
